The authors reported that recombinant human thymosin ฮฒ4 reduced cardiac dysfunction and fibrosis in mouse ischemia/reperfusion models, and in an accompanying randomized trial of 96 STEMI patients observed reduced infarct size only in the subgroup treated within 8 hours of PCI.
